An interior designer can help pull a party look together with style and taste that coordinates with your home decor.

Last month a client asked me to help with decor for a bridal shower. We moved furniture into the garage and went to the local event rental store for tables, linens and chairs,  to be set up in the dining room and living room for brunch and gift opening.  We brought in some gauze to wrap the chandelier and a California company printed “Bride to Be” signs for the fireplace.  The glass doors looking into an unsightly office off the dining room were covered on the inside with white butcher block paper to make them more formal.  Then we draped a cascade of flowers over the door.

The client hired the local nursery to come and plant geraniums and vines in the outdoor patio pots and they were wonderful.

Here is a look at the cake table. We added decorations and gauzy lady dress trinkets to a shimmery tablecloth found on the internet.

The cake table doubled as the mimosa table.

The florist worked with us on the kind of flowers and vases we wanted and were very helpful in locating the perfect glass spheres.  The flowers for the dining table were elongated down the length of the table and added glamour to the occasion.

The food was catered but I went to Crate and Barrel for these gorgeous white platters and serving bowls. They were $24.99 each.  Our decor colors were pink, white and gold and looked gorgeous with the platters.

We found glass bowls to serve the fruit in at the Dollar store- nothing like a bargain.
